Here's our current list of courses taking place at Home Farm.  Courses vary throughout the year so come back regularly to see what we have planned.  To book your place please pop over to our shop page and purchase a space on the course.

The course fee includes tuition, materials and refreshments. Courses take place on our beautiful organic farm in our cosy classroom, you may even get to spot a few of the sheep. 

Meet the Bees

A half day experience for the bee fan who would like to know more.
We start off with a short talk on some of the basic aspects of bee keeping.
An opportunity to look inside a hive will follow as we suit up (bee suits provided) and head out to the apiary to carry out a hive inspection.

Wet Felting

Join us to learn the basics of wet felting, one of the oldest fibre arts.​
On this course you will be introduced to the art of wet felting and have the opportunity to create your own two dimensional wet felt work of art using processed British wool in a range of colours.

Duration: 3 hr

Needle Felting

On this course you will be introduced to the art of needle felting and have the opportunity to create your own needle felted works of art using processed British wool in a range of colours. During the course we run you through the basics with a simple two dimensional project before going up a level to make a three dimensional piece. For the 3D portion we will be making a curly wool sheep.
If you run short of time the course fee includes a kit to take home, allowing you to finish off your artwork or make another project.

Drop Spindle

Start out on your spinning journey with the ancient technique of drop spinning.
Great for beginners who are keen to learn how to convert fibre into yarn.
In this 2 hour course you will be introduced to the art of drop spinning using a simple top whorl drop spindle and prepared wool fibre. You will be walked through the basics of the technique and given lots of time for supported practice. You will be able to take your very own handspun wool away with you.
